Lesson 4: Promoting Your Lead Magnet

Once you've created your beautiful lead magnet, it's time to send it out in the world to earn you some subscribers! In this lesson we'll cover the four main ways to get your offer in front of people.

1) Opt-in on your website
Up until this point, your website offer has been "subscribe for help with such and such delivered to your inbox." This is good because it tells people why they would want to subscribe, but it could be better if it was more motivating. That's where your lead magnet comes in! Now you have something specific that your ideal customer really wants. This is the perfect way to entice new subscribers to join your list.

2) Networking
As discussed earlier, networking on social media is a great way to connect with potential subscribers. Now that you have a lead magnet, your networking will be much more effective! Previously, if someone got interested in your work, they might check out your website for a few minutes, but then they'd likely leave and never return. But now, when they visit, they'll see your lead magnet and likely join your list, enabling you to follow up with them time-after-time.

3) Social media feeds
A great way to get your lead magnet in front of a collection of people who have already shown interest in your work.
Share across all your profiles on all platforms.
Share over and over again. There's so much "noise" online that it's unlikely any one person will see it more than once, and even if they happen to it's really not a big deal because it's something valuable that you're offering for free. If they do see it more then once, most likely they'll just think that it's because it's so popular!

4) Paid advertising
You might be hesitant to do this since you aren't getting a direct return on your money with a free lead magnet, but in the long run this really is worth it. Subscribers are worth a lot to your business, and paying to promote your lead magnet guarantees that the people who join your list will be people interested in what you have to offer. It's an investment that will pay off in the future.

  2. Set your opt-in form so that when new people subscribe they will be redirected to the lead magnet file.
